George A. Finckenor (1917-2002), the Sag Harbor village historian, curator of the Sag Harbor Whaling Museum, and author of a variety of published articles about local history, documented changes around the village and presented a binder of those accumulated news clippings and photographs to the Village Board at the end of each year.
